Guests attending Sangerfest are invited to enjoy the many special attractions in Decorah.

Early morning guided walks have been planned on both Friday and Saturday mornings on paved trails along the Upper Iowa River. Bring your comfortable shoes and a camera and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Then begin planning your day…

The Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum and Gift Shop (http://vesterheim.org) should be on the top of your list.
Vesterheim will be offering several mini-classes in Rosemaling, Culinary, and Klostersøm for Sangerfest participants. The classes will cost $30.00 per person per class

The Hotel Winneshiek is a restored turn-of-the-century hotel set amidst the charm of Decorah, Iowa. http://www.hotelwinn.com/home.asp

The Porter House Museum is an 1867 Italianate villa located in downtown Decorah. (http://www.porterhousemuseum.com/) The house is furnished with the original furniture, collections, art work, photographs, library of the original owners. It is well known for a collection of exotic butterflies and the unique rock wall which surrounds the house.

If you enjoy shopping, be sure to include the Vanberia Scandinavian Import Shop (http://www.vanberiadecorah.com) in downtown Decorah. Vanberia is the largest import shop in the U.S. between Chicago and San Fransisco.
Decorah is home of the nationally known Story People (http://www.storypeople.com) and also hosts many other fine gift shops.
So if you want you can “shop ‘til you drop” and then enjoy the concerts and special events of Sangerfest
Special tours have also been arranged on Friday and Saturday of the Sangerfest. Due to transportation and special arrangements, individuals who wish to participate in one or more of the following tours MUST PRE-REGISTER. Each of these tours will require an additional fee.
