Bryllupsfest -- A Norwegian Wedding
The luncheon, entitled BRYLLUPSFEST -- A Norwegian Wedding, will begin at 11:30 am on Saturday, July the first, in the beautiful historic Hotel Winnesheik/Steyer Opera House, located in downtown Decorah. (Be sure to note that this event is on Saturday, not the usual Friday).
The luncheon program will be a re-enactment of a traditional Norwegian wedding including a wedding procession in authentic Norwegian festive dress. The program committee will provide a commentary on Norwegian wedding traditions, as the couple progresses from falling in love, to engagement and finally to the BRYLLUPSFEST. Karen Solgrd, well-known Hardanger fiddler from Minnesota will be the featured performer.
Attendees are invited to wear a bunad or the appropriate dress for a wedding. This delightful event is a must for your itinerary as part of your visit to Decorah for the 56 th Sangerfest
