An Evening with Ola and Per

The theme for the event will be A COUNTRY SUPPER WITH OLA AND PER.  The banquet theme will feature the cartoon characters, Ola and Per.  Ola and Per were cartoon characters drawn by artist Peter Rosendahl from Spring Grove, MN, and were featured in the publications of the Decorah Posten from 1918 through 1935.  The Posten was a Norwegian language publication. (Craig Bergsgaard, a bronze sculptur from Littleton, CO, created the life-sized statures of Ola and Per picture here. The statues are located in Spring Grove, MN.)

The evening’s activities, including a full dinner and some special entertainment, will take place at the Jewel Skating Rink facility, which is located about three miles south of Decorah, on U. S. Highway #52.

The banquet will present several new concepts, including NO white dinner jackets and black slacks!!!  The appropriate dress for the evening is INFORMAL. In order to keep with the theme of Ola and Per and the everyday lifestyle of the Norwegians that lived in the area, jeans for the men and work dresses for the women would be very appropriate!!!

Paul and Janine Jordahl are chairs for this evening event.
